After Porcelain Utopia shut down in October 2013, Jonathan Harnisch worked tirelessly to recover what hackers had corrupted. At its peak, his self-run WordPress blog reached 25 million daily hits and was hailed as the most viral mental health site of its time, chronicling his life with schizophrenia. Despite digital attacks and shutdown, Harnisch’s voice remains—raw, resilient, and enduring beyond the wreckage. This is what’s left. And it still speaks.

The Overall Picture
We’re often asked, “How are you?” When I ask myself, and really think about it—good or bad—or in-between, it always seems to come down to the “overall” picture.
Overall, I am well.
Overall, I do my best.
Overall, I am <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/ok/" title="View all articles about OK here">OK.
Nothing’s really black or white, but rather, overall…

To Worry is to Waste Time
To worry is to waste time. Worrying doesn’t change anything. It only robs one of his or her joy and peace of mind, simply keeping one busy doing absolutely nothing, when it comes down to it.

Inner Demons >> Porcelain Utopia
There are times I’ll struggle and tussle with my inner demons. Other times we’ll simply cuddle and snuggle together. It’s a relationship that has both feelings of love and hate. There is a bond between us that remains ever strong, perhaps based on the myth or truth of general inherent goodness or purely due to all the variants of myself and any beast or such demons, <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>real or unreal. My inner demons are within me, and oftentimes, they end up being the ones who save me; I don’t have such a need to be saved from my inner demons per se.

To Love Every Part of Someone
When we love someone, we love every part, not just the good things. Supporting them, being there for them with flaws and everything.
