Mental Health Humor via Ann Landers

"1 out of 4 people are mentally unbalanced. Think of your 3 closest friends. if they seem okay, then you're The One."

[Hopefully the above mental health joke made you laugh. However, there is a story behind the featured image—aside from its perhaps offensive humor. The slogan was actually first devised by Ann Landers to gain the attention of her audience.]

Be More Childlike

The child in me sees and knows. The adult clouds the issue. When young, we believe & we're innocent; the world crowds in. Be more childlike.

Life Is Too Short: On Love

Life is way too short to waste time trying to convince someone that you are worthy to be loved. God made us all unique, glorious individuals, and if someone refuses to see how special that you are, then you should refuse to even give them time out of your day. Stop wasting the precious time you have on the people who don't love you, and focus the spending of your time on the people who do love you. Also, be sure to make time to focus on loving yourself, doing so will make it very easy for a very deserving person to love you as well.

Always remember you are always loved.

You might not even realize it.

The Powerful Choice of Today

Today: Only I (that's all) have the choice to be <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" title="View all articles about happy here" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/happy/">happy or unhappy. Nothing external. No past nor future. I'm choosing happiness today!

True Freedom Doesn't Mind The Drama

You are the imperishable Self. You were never born, you never did prevail, and you'll never die. You are the One, the all pervading One. You have absolutely nothing to give up. You never had anything to begin with.

Talking To Each Other Not About Each Other

Crazy to Not Care

Crazy to Not Care:

Sure, I do have this condition called schizophrenia. However I feel with my entire heart, not just from a part of my condition/s, which I embrace… living my life the best <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" title="View all articles about I am here" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/i-am/">I am able. In times of suffering or elated joy, I not only feel it, I live it. <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" title="View all articles about I am here" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/i-am/">I am a human being, just like anyone else. To be called crazy, insane, or simply a "bad person," I'm inclined to believe more in the act of caring. Not caring is crazier than just being called crazy. If someone you care about, or not has schizophrenia, I invite you to put your heart out and give him or her a phone call or send an <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" title="View all articles about crazy here" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/crazy/">email. See how they might be doing. I’m sure it would feel good, overall.

Thank you.

Good morning to all of you, first. Facebook is my fave place w/ fave peeps. Even with thousands of "friends" on other platforms. U all rock. Good stuff going on in the arts & socially. Great MH pride since I'm in a manic state again w/ <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" title="View all articles about thought here" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/thought/">thought after <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" title="View all articles about thought here" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/thought/">thought (creative & "brilliant," as they come in and remain in memory) — onslaughts of <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" title="View all articles about Porcelain Utopia here" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/porcelain-utopia/">Porcelain Utopia posts I see as photographs w/ words & images. So in lieu of it all, simply, I decide to simply sit by our waterfall and just stay put, just for now; mindfulness & problem solving, said a mentor are the keys to <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" title="View all articles about CBT here" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/cbt/">CBT, I sit and watch instead, Milli Vanilli on repeat in my head. It seems to come down to experience and learning... And the rest of the <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" title="View all articles about thoughts here" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/thoughts/">thoughts I allow and roll on. Be well.

The Beauty of Being Authentic

The beauty of <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/truth/" title="View all articles about truth here">truth is <a class="StrictlyAutoTagAnchor" href="http://www.jharnisch.com/tag/authenticity/" title="View all articles about authenticity here">authenticity. Become more authentic and you will have a flowering. The more authentic you become, by and by you will feel many things are falling away of their own accord and you never made any effort to do anything. Once you know the knack of being authentic, then you become more and more loose, more and more natural. True liberation is not very far away; it is just hidden behind you. Once you are authentic, the door is open!

Awesome Facebook Status

Facebook Status:

Stop being unhappy with yourself. You are perfect. Stop wishing you looked like someone else. Stop hating your body, your face, your personality, or your quirks. Love them. Without those things, you wouldn’t be you. Why would you want to be someone else? Have confidence in who you are. If anyone hates you for being… yourself, that’s their problem. Don’t let your happiness depend on others. Love who you are and be happy. Everybody has their own flaws and imperfections. That’s what makes you special and beautiful. Therefore, love what it is that makes you different, because you are pretty amazing.

Inner Demons >> Porcelain Utopia

There are times I’ll struggle and tussle with my inner demons. Other times we’ll simply cuddle and snuggle together. It’s a relationship that has both feelings of love and hate. There is a bond between us that remains ever strong, perhaps based on the myth or truth of general inherent goodness or purely due to all the variants of myself and any beast or such demons, <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>real or unreal. My inner demons are within me, and oftentimes, they end up being the ones who save me; I don’t have such a need to be saved from my inner demons per se.
